FAQs:
1. What is a U-Pull-It Yard? We allow customers to come pull parts off vehicles located in a designated portion of our parts yard.
2. Why? First, because our customers asked for one. Second, so customers do not have to wait for us to pull the parts ourselves. Third, so customers can look at the parts and ensure fitment and condition before pulling and purchasing.
3. Do we have Rules? Yes... (and lots to be honest) to ensure the safety of us, our business, our property, the environment and most importantly our customers. You must be at least 18 years old, and you will have to sign a waiver/agreement each year.
4. What are your hours? Our goal is to be open 3 days a week including at least 1 weekend day and 1 evening. Plus, when available you will be able to schedule an appointment to go into the yard if one of our open times does not work for you. There will be an extra fee associated with this service.
5. When will you open? To Be Determined. Hopefully this fall.
6. What are your prices? Our goal is to sell the parts as cheap as we can. There will be a price list posted on this page.
U-Pull Yard Rules / Admission Fees
Safety; environmental stewardship; and respect for yard owners, staff, fellow customers and property are important to us. All customers must follow these yard rules to enter and use our U-Pull Yard. Unless you are an owner or on-shift staff member, you are a customer, and these rules apply to you.
General:
1. Customers may only access the designated U-Pull Yard and Parking Area. Customers will not enter any other areas of the property or any areas of the U-Pull Yard or Parking Area that are blocked off.
2. Customers must be 18 years of age or older. Customers will need to provide an active driver’s license or other form of official photo ID. Children/individuals under the age of 18 are not permitted on the property- there will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule.
3. Customers will respect our Hours of Operation, Yard Owners/Staff and other Yard Customers. Entry to the yard will be restricted 15 minutes before closing. Yard Owners/Staff have the final say on all rules and pricing. We have a zero-tolerance policy for disrespecting the Yard Owners/Staff or other customers.
4. Customers will not vandalize, steal or entry the property after hours (aka trespass).
5. Any parts fitment information provided by Yard Owners/Staff does not guarantee or imply fitment. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure the fitment of a part prior to removing or purchasing that part. Yard Owners/Staff may provide interchange information from Hollander Software to assist with part fitment. Any information provided is not a guarantee of fitment.
6. Customers will not remove parts from or install parts to vehicle(s) while on the property. Furthermore, customers will not loiter or ‘hang out’ on the property. The property is not for working on your vehicle, socializing or hanging out. If you are not engaged in searching for or removing parts, you will be asked to leave the property.
7. There may be additional Yard Rules that must be followed to ensure safety and environmental considerations.
8. Yard Owner/Staff decisions on rules/pricing are final. If a customer does not follow the Yard Rules, the customer will have to leave the property immediately and may be banned from further entry and use of the U-Pull Yard.
Fees / Pricing / Refunds:
1. Customers must pay the $5 (Cash only) Admission Fee (Per Day, Per Person) for Entry to the U-Pull Yard. (Note: The $5 admission fee will be credited towards any cash purchases made for at least $25).
2. The price of parts is final and non-negotiable. Customers can and should obtain a price list prior to removing any parts. Prices are subject to change at any time.
3. Parts are sold in ‘As Is’ condition and any refunds will be in the form of ‘Store Credit’ Only. Some parts (Motors, Transmissions, Transfer Cases & Electronics) purchased from the U-Pull Yard will have a 14-day warranty from that date of purchase. The original receipt must be presented, and the Yard Sticker or marking must be untampered with to return and claim store credit.
4. If a customer carelessly or willfully damages or destroys parts, that customer will be responsible for paying for those parts whether the customer was intending to purchase the parts or not. Please be respectful when pulling parts.
Entry:
1. Customers will not enter the U Pull Yard or Parking Area under the influence of alcohol or drugs (illegal, medicinal or recreational). Customers will not use alcohol, drugs or smoke any substance to include cigarettes while on the property. Anyone who appears under the influence of any substance will not be permitted entry to the U-Pull Yard and will have to leave the property immediately.
2. The following items are not to be possessed or used on the property: torches, grinders, lighters, jacks of any kind, or any other items that the Yard Owners/Staff deemed to be unsafe devices that may cause a fire or environmental hazard or safety concern.
3. Toolboxes, containers and bags will be inspected upon entering & leaving the U-Pull Yard. (Note: Any parts brought in for comparison purposes will be marked by Yard Owners/Staff. Attempting to steal parts or bring in unauthorized items will result in the customer being banned from the property.)
Use of Yard:
1. Customers will not pull, remove or destroy the following parts: Whole Cabs, Frames, Windshields, Fuel/Gas Tanks (All have holes in them), catalytic converters, airbags, license plates, inspection stickers, VIN Tags or VIN Labels (Note: Doors & Glove Boxes with VIN Labels may be purchased but do not destroy or remove the labels).
2. Customers will not litter anywhere on the property and will pick up after themselves. Any parts removed that are not being purchased must be placed back in the vehicle they came from.
3. Component parts may be marked with ID#s. Customers will not remove or alter these ID#s until after the customer has purchased the parts. If certain component parts do not have ID#s, customers will assist the Yard Owners/Staff by providing the vehicle information on the vehicle that the customer pulled the component parts from. (Note: Yard Owners/Staff must account for the sale of all Component Parts in accordance with Maine State Laws. Component Parts include: Engine/Motor, Transmission, Transfer Case, Front Clip, Rear Clip, Doors, Hood, Tailgate, Roof, Hatch, Bed, Quarter Panel and Fenders.)
4. Customers will provide accurate information about the parts they are purchasing and the vehicles they remove the parts from. (Note: Attempting to score a lower price by providing false information is theft and will result in being banned from the yard.)
